Privacy Policy
SaveKit (“the add-on”, “we”, “us”) is an independent browser add-on that helps you save media from Instagram and view stories without recording a view. SaveKit is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram or Meta.
1. What SaveKit does
SaveKit works only on Instagram. It reads the page and the photos, videos and stories Instagram already shows, then saves the files you choose to your device. It can also stop Instagram from recording that you viewed a story when Ghost Mode is on.
2. Data collection
SaveKit does not collect, send, sell or share personal data.
- No account, server, advertising or tracking.
- Nothing about your browsing, messages, login details, cookies or Instagram content is sent to us or anyone else.
- SaveKit does not download extra code. Everything it needs is included with SaveKit.
3. Data stored on your device
SaveKit keeps the following information on your device only:
- Your settings: download folder, file names, Ghost Mode and language.
- Your chosen folder: if you pick a custom save folder, SaveKit remembers it on your device.
- Your saved files: in the folder you choose (by default, a subfolder of your Downloads folder).
This information never leaves your device. You can delete it by removing SaveKit or clearing its data.
4. Access to Instagram
SaveKit uses the Instagram account already signed in in your browser. It does not collect or send your password, login details, messages, cookies or other account information.
SaveKit’s own story viewer never tells Instagram that you watched a story. When Ghost Mode is on, SaveKit also stops Instagram’s own story player from recording a view. Ghost Mode does not remove views that were recorded before it was turned on.
5. What SaveKit can access
- Your downloads — save the files you choose to your Downloads folder.
- Your settings — remember your choices on your device.
- Story privacy — stop Instagram from recording story views when Ghost Mode is on.
- Your chosen folder — save files to a folder you pick, even during longer downloads.
- Instagram — show the SaveKit panel on Instagram and save the media you select.
SaveKit does not ask for access to your tabs, browsing history, cookies, messages or other websites.
6. Third parties
SaveKit does not share data with third parties. Files go directly from Instagram to your device. Your browser and operating system may keep their own download history and file details; that is controlled by your browser and operating system, not by SaveKit.
7. Children
SaveKit is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Your choices
- Turn Ghost Mode off in Settings at any time.
- Choose a different download folder or use your browser’s Downloads folder.
- Remove SaveKit to stop all processing and delete its data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy when SaveKit changes. The effective date at the top will be updated, and the current version will remain at this address.
